About Yvonne Forward
Yvonne is a fully qualified attachment-based psychotherapist and counsellor with more than 25 years of experience working with individuals and couples from her practices in Hornsey (N8) and Highbury (N5).
Trained at Regent's College and The Bowlby Centre, London, she also supervises and teaches trainee psychotherapists at The Bowlby Centre. She brings a deep understanding of how early relationships shape the difficulties we face as adults, and works with a wide range of emotional, psychological and relational concerns.
The therapeutic approach
Yvonne's work is grounded in attachment theory — the understanding that our earliest relationships shape the way we feel about ourselves, relate to others and experience the world.
In therapy, there is space not only to explore what is happening in your life right now, but also to look at patterns — in relationships, in emotions, in the way you respond to difficulty — that may have their roots in earlier experiences. Understanding those patterns, and where they come from, is often what makes lasting change possible.
Yvonne works in a warm, open and non-judgemental way. Sessions are confidential. There is no pressure to talk about anything before you feel ready, and no expectation that you will have everything worked out before you arrive.
